چکیده

Several lines of evidence garnered so far attest that coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) is associated with a remarkably high rate thrombotic events.[1] Di Minno et al recently published the results critical literature review and meta-analysis, including 20 studies totaling 1988 COVID-19 patients,[2] which revealed weighted mean prevalence venous thromboembolism (VTE), deep vein thrombosis (DVT), pulmonary embolism (PE) was as 31.3% (95% confidence interval [95% CI], 24.3–39.2%), 19.8% CI: 10.5–34.0%), 18.9% 14.4–24.3%), respectively. The presenting characteristics outcomes 455 patients who developed VTE (83% PE 17% isolated DVT, respectively) during hospitalization have also been described by Fernández-Capitán al.[3] Interestingly, these had median age 65 years most (i.e., over 70%) were male. frequent comorbidity hypertension (42%), followed diabetes (20%), chronic disorders (10%), coronary artery (6%), 4% active smokers. vast majority immobilized (nearly 80%), while diagnosed having cancer. Positive personal history for previous episodes only present in less than all patients. Irrespective likelihood developing VTE, even situ thrombosis,[4] seem to carry considerable enhanced risk arterial thrombosis, emphasized Boonyawat al.[5] These authors performed comprehensive 36 studies, reporting incidence around 3% intensive care unit (ICU) settings. In another recent Kunutsor Laukkanen,[6] myocardial infarction, ischemic stroke, systemic found be comprised between 1.6% 3.3%.
